Shopaholics

In this work, the shopping cart becomes a device that activates the audience, turning them simultaneously into both subject and object. As a familiar symbol of consumption, the cart invites movement, selection, grasping. Within it, images and sculptures, codified gestures such as the middle finger, the “like,” and the peace sign, translate body language into physical symbols.

A large-scale painting and smaller formats coexist as extremes of scale. Here, I am interested in how the use of letters as elements invites reading, becoming almost a sonic image. The contrast in dimensions not only intensifies their tones, but also renders the painting almost sculptural.
